SQL :- In june 1970, Dr. E.F. Codd published a paper entitled ‘A Relational Model of data for large shared data banks’.This Relational model,sponsored by IBM,then came to be accepeted as a definitive model for Relational Database Management System(RDBMS).The language developed by IBM to manipulate the data stored within Codd’s model was originally called Structured English Query Language(SEQUEL) with the word ‘English’ later being droped in favo5r of Structured Query Language.
Structured Query Language(SQL) is the language used to manipulate relational database.SQL is tied very closely with the relational model.It is simple and powerful language used to create,manipulate and retrieve data and structures in the database.It is a industry standard language fro relational database management system such as Oracle,Microsoft SQL server,IBM DB2,MYSQL.
